Forest certification is our contribution to support healthy and resilient forests and to guarantee our virgin wood fibre from native or implanted trees to manufacture paper and paperboard comes from responsibly managed forests. This ensures the preservation of biodiversity, benefits local communities as well as workers, and creates formal employment.

Our paperboard and packaging companies hold FSC and PEFC chain of custody certification and Beyga Humaitá, our forestry company, PEFC certification. Both international organisations are committed to achieving the same goals:

• The certification of forests setting real and independently verified standards of responsible forest management. Both certifications aim to protect the natural habitats for plants and animals and to respect the rights forestry workers and local communities have.
• The printed chain of custody logo on folding cartons guarantees the folding carton or product is manufactured with plan fibres from certified forests, under Forest Chains of Custody.
